From April onwards, the town emerges from its hibernation and prepares to welcome its many travellers in search of sunshine and heavenly beaches. Our quiet town then becomes a cheerful and pleasant seaside resort. Ile Rousse is a seaside town with its own beach right in the centre of town! It's easy to fall under the spell of its colourful facades, pedestrian streets and Place Paoli, where boules players play tirelessly. In this landscape, our hotel is a rare find: it's the only one on the island of La Pietra, a unique and particularly peaceful spot, with breathtaking views over the endless beauty of the Mediterranean.

Swimming is perfectly safe here, as it is supervised throughout the summer months, and is ideal for children as the water is shallow for several metres.

It's often said that Rome wasn't built in a day, but neither was L'Ile Rousse! According to the archives, the town was already populated in ancient times, but it really took off in 1759 under the Corsican Republic, when the illustrious Pascal Paoli decided to turn it into a commercial port. The town got its nickname from this period, "la cité paoline", and its port has retained its commercial function to this day. The town is particularly popular for its family atmosphere, its pristine white sandy beach, its cobbled pedestrian streets, its colourful architecture and its famous Place Paoli, which is bustling with life at almost any time of the day or night.
